Luke Pestl is a Toronto-born artist focused on large wheel thrown sculptural ceramics in both downtown toronto and remote Nova Scotia. His work pays homage to the environments from which they are born: graffiti covered urban decay, and the eroded shores of Nova Scotia’s rugged coast. The weathered texture of Luke’s work toys with seduction and repulsion. The charm and fury of natural elements; the broken beauty of crowded cities. Luke and his art remain creatively open to spontaneous beauty and engaging patina.
