Argentinian based artist, Nacha Canvas’ practice investigates the natural processes around paper and ceramics and materials itself. It’s about colour approached from its own material and composition, applying natural pigments from mineral and vegetal origin. It is a commitment to alchemy and the research of techniques that combine aqueous media and the use of absorbent materials such as paper, clay, salts and a thorough work of glazes.
Nacha Canvas’ recognizable palettes of natural pigments in coastal whites and sandy neutrals extend from watercolour on collaged paper to her new wall-mounted ceremics in her continuing exploration of architecture, landscape, materials and process.
